Women have the right to live free of violence

Focused on the prevention and reduction of gender-based violence in all its different manifestations, this project uses a methodology of cultural competence to address the specific needs of Afro-descendant women in Puerto Rico. These are some things we've achieved through the funding of this project:

• Psychological and psychosocial services are offered for gender-based violence survivors. Taller Salud is a hub for women to feel comfortable and safe. We ensure the confidentiality of every single one of our beneficiaries to build the rapport that ensures their emotional wellbeing.
• Centered on trauma review and collective healing, Taller Salud continues our women led program "Circle of Women". In this program, gender based violence survivors participate in activities that lead to collective discussion and healing processes. Healing comes in diverse forms, including celebration, and an environment of support and championing promotes our women's health and their own self-fulfillment. Our circle continues to grow as more community women feel empowered for themselves and others.
• Our vision of empowered and healthy women has transformed into women who can advocate, organize, and consolidate community leadership through their own needs and perspective.
