This project was established to economically strengthen the homes of several families living under extreme poverty. We had hoped to reduce on the levels of over dependence to Whisper's charity organisation by several families who cannot afford clothes, proper shelter or even a meal a day by providing them with a self generating small scale business which will help them to acquire the basic needs required.
Starting up small scale businesses for these families which they can manage on their own was the ultimate goal to reduce the levels of extreme poverty in homes in the deep rural areas in the Eastern region of Uganda. We believe that extreme poverty plays a big role in the cause of malnutrition in many children we admit at the Hospital.
Unfortunately we were able to receive only $60 from our generous donors. The funds didnot reach our planned estimate for a starting business as we had planned. Instead we used it to buy matresses, bedsheets and providing the families with some food because they had nothing at all. We thank everyone who donated to this project.
