Thanks so much for providing warm blankets for earthquake survivors including Manoj. We asked Manoj about his earthquake story and here’s what he had to say.
“When earthquake occurred I was playing with my brother [in a] nearby field. At first we were confused when the earth shook. My brother and I both fell in the ground closing our ears. Then our house starts to collapse. I could see our goats running here and there. There was so many dust around and all people were shouting. After it stopped the dust settled down. Then what I saw there was very terrifying. Many people got hurt when the house collapsed. My grandfather and my mother also got hurt. Every house in our neighborhood [including ours] fell down. Some was standing with half broken. Many people died. But the earthquake didn’t stopped it came again and again the whole day. We all were very scared so we slept in the field that night. Next day my father with some villager built a tent with bamboo and we all slept there together.”
Since that first night Manoj and his family have moved into a makeshift house, but this is still just made from tin and tarps. These provide little protection from Nepal’s freezing winter weather and this meant that Manoj was always cold and unhappy. Manoj’s health was also in danger and, if the weather got really bad, he could literally have frozen.
But now, thanks to you, Manoj, his family, and other affected households, will have warm blankets provided.
These blankets will allow these families to keep warm and happy. This will remind them that someone cares and importantly, also help protect their health during the cold winter months. Thank you so much.

One last time, thanks so much for providing warm blankets for Manoj
