WAFA is strengthening its commitment to support new and even more 'Silent Heroes' in the remotest parts of the globe. In 2021 WAFA ' will harness all its efforts and create a new program to seek out - 'Silent Heroes' - nominees, entrants and award winners. The Award targets projects and local nature-based solutions that can be shared and replicated easily across the planet. WAFA will promote winning projects to attract potential investors to scale them up worldwide.
Challenge : This year more than ever there is a need to expand our efforts to find and reward 'Silent Heroes' all across the globe. Specifically, these funds will be used to enhance our search and shine the light on 'Silent Heroes' - with new award celebrations, a new 'Silent Heroes' Ambassador Program; collating 'Silent Heroes' stories and identifying 'Silent Heroes' in remote areas. And to empower them financially so that they can impact their communities.
This Project will empower some of the local emerging sustainable leaders - Our Silent Heroes; to encourage their communities to adopt grass-root sustainable solutions - Clean Water, Safe and Nutritious food and a cleaner environment. These leaders further create an environment for the training and development of local leaders who can enhance and motivate their communities to adapt to better and sustainable solutions.
These sustainable solutions will help combat the dire sustainability challenges across the globe - lack of sanitation, biodiversity loss, deforestation, climate change, water scarcity, pollution etc. that could otherwise adversely affect all aspects of human life for these 'at risk communities' in all corners of the globe. This exposure will create awareness about the local sustainable solutions which can be adopted by those who are in great need.
