Medical research has several elements. QMed's workshops specialize in two aspects of medical research - online searching and referencing. These are not normally taught, but covered in depth in our workshops . Our office can host only three people. Having a set venue to conduct workshops for 15 participants, at regular intervals can make a big difference. If we announce dates for three months at a time, we can train so many more. We are now raising the amount needed for six months.
Medical students, residents and professionals work hard at updating themselves for all their professional needs. They need to search online every day. They know that QMed trains them in correct methods of searching and referencing. However their institutions do not invite QMed as often as needed. And for them to do a workshop at QMed's office is also a problem since we can accommodate only three at at time. Often this results in a long waiting time for anyone to attend our workshops
We will announce a series of dates for our workshops. Participants can choose to attend any one of our workshops. The venue we chose is one which they can easily reach by any form of public transport. If one misses a workshop at his/her institution, then it is easy for him/her to attend one of ours. They do not have to wait for long to attend one. More workshops means more people get trained and they save a lot of time they currently waste with lack of skills.
By empowering students, librarians and health professionals with strong search skills, there will be a huge improvement in their research activities. Research output in India will increase and be evidence based. The investments made by libraries and research bodies for access to research resources, will be well utilized. Doctors and students will have lot more time for patients and for themselves. The community will get healthcare services based on best global practices
