Summary

The sweethearts Foundation's 12 Days of Christmas Wheelchair is back! Over the 12 day period leading up to Christmas, we will be highlighting 12 beneficiaries who are desperately in need of a wheelchair. It's Christmas, and we want to give them the best Christmas present of all, MOVEMENT. Help us fund these important wheelchairs which can turn these wonderful people back into invaluable members of society. Give the Gift of Movement this Christmas.

Challenge

There are thousands of South Africans who sadly have lost their independence due to diseases, illness or complications from birth. We are here to help these important people receive their mobility back and get them to become an invaluable member of the community once more. Help us Give the Gift of Movement in the form of a wheelchair and help the beneficiary's go to school, back to work and take some of the pressure off of the families looking after them.

Solution

This project will help keep our initiative alive and help us provide much-needed wheelchairs to those in need. Our beneficiaries do not have the means or funds to purchase their own wheelchairs and thus we rely on the kind hearts of others to help us fund the wheelchairs. We collect bottle tops and bread tags in South Africa to reduce the amount of pollution and use these funds from recycling to purchase wheelchairs.

Long-Term Impact

In providing wheelchairs to the beneficiaries we are helping them gain the freedom many of us take for granted! Past beneficiaries have been able to go back to school to get an education, or go to the clinic for check-ups, gain employment and simply be less reliant on others to get around. Donations will greatly supplement the funding received from our recycling efforts in providing these much-needed wheelchairs.
