Thank you for your decision to support our rural education program at the primary school Finca Buena Vista in San Felipe, Retalhuleu! Together we almost funded the total amount of 750$ for the schools nutrition garden!
Our local Field Team in Nutrition and Safe Foods leaded by our Agronomist Armando started working with the teacher and the kid´s at the schools garden area and in classroom. Your donation allows us to start working on the schools nutrition garden with the kids and to educate rural children in better nutrition and healthy foods. Under a roofing construction to protect plants and herbs from heavy rain coming soon in May, the children planted first greens and veggies. Other spaces will be used as well and in class the students will learn about the biology of the Casa-Granja nutrition garden concept and why your body needs different nutritions, proteins and vitamins. Cooking activities will lead the students to the practical performance of using healthy veggies and greens under hygienic kitchen conditions and safe food procedures. Nutritious meals will help them to concentrate and gain more skills for lifetime!
