The microproject will make a positive impact on the lives of women who were devastated by Covid 19. The beneficiary women have lost their husbands and jobs. Your intervention will help more than 120 women learn tailoring free of cost and earn a living by stitching clothes. They will be able to better take care of their children which includes sending them to school.
There are hundreds of women who lost their husbands in the districts of Chittoor because of Covid19 during 2020-21. These women are either stay-at-home mothers or daily wage laborers/maid servants. Covid took away most of their jobs as well. Many women have no source of income and have been at the mercy of non-profit organizations for groceries, provisions and other essential requirements. Their children have stopped going to school and have been forced to work as labor on agricultural fields.
Your support will help us provide these women the necessary skills to earn a living. During Dec 2020-March 2021, we ran a tailoring training program for such women. More than 100 women got benefitted and have been able to find a source of income. We have identified another 100 women who are in financial distress. These women after 3-4 months of training will be able to find a source of income. We will hire a teacher to train the women on stitching clothes.
This project will help many poor women from starvation, making sure their health and well-being are not compromised. The women will be able to support their children and other dependents.

Every microproject is intended to use the donations it receives in accordance with its stated description; however, it is important to provide project leaders with the flexibility to maximize the potential benefit from the donations they receive. This means that your donation may be used as a part of the main project that supports this microproject, specifically Coronavirus Relief Project | Sphoorti Foundation. In this event, the project leader is required to post an update to the microproject detailing the results and reasons behind this change.
If you or any other donor is unhappy with the way their funds have been used, he or she can reallocate their donation using the GlobalGiving guarantee.
