Background:

Raksha Nepal has been actively working for women and children for the past 10 years. This organization supports those girls, women and their children who have been through different types of violence (Sexual abuse, demostic violence, trafficking, polygamy victim etc) or who are vulenerable to violence, It also works in favor of the victims to raise their voice to the concerned institutions and help them get justice.

In the same context, since last 5 years, Raksha has established a Child Transit Home for those vulnerable children who have gone through negligence, orphans, sexually abused and other violations. The main objective to keep them in this transit home is to prevent them from following the wrong path and enjoy the basic rights like other normal children. Moreover, these children also get oppertunity to make their life better. Raksha Nepal has been trying it's best to give a safe and family environment to these vulnerable children, with limited funding source. RN with personal contributions has extended different kinds of support to more than 2500 children sofar. Currently, It has 30 children in its transit home. Raksha Nepal has been coordinating with different organizations for their secure future.

Main Activities of the Project:

  • Select the players for the chamionship
  • Participate in World Taekwondo Cultural Expo Competition at South Korea
  • Taekwondo team honour by the different Nepali community in South Korea

In details:

Select the players for the chamionship:

7 childrens are selected for the international taekwondo competititon in South Korea. Raksha Nepal since past 2 years has established Raksha Taekwondo Dojang under which all those living in its home are receiving regular taekwondo training. In a short span of time these children have successfully demonstrated best performance at the different local and district level competititons. As a result, 7 best performers have been selected to participate in the 8th World Taekwondo Cultural Expo. Competition, in Muju, South Korea; competition had began July 4-7, 2014.

Participate in World Taekwondo Cultural Expo Competition at South Korea

Raksha Nepal very hardly manage to send 7 players with 2 officials in South Korea, nearly 10 hundred thousand Nepali rupees were needed to manage all expences for South Korea tour. In short notice we don't have other options to manage fund for that, as we know and we can easily presume how that International level competition exposure has inspired the lives of these children who have been the victims of different forms of violence- some have lost their parents and their loved one at a tender age and been through indescribable hurt. Through these sports they have demonstreted their responsibility in front of all the players at the international level competition by proudly waving Nepali flag. The proudest part of this copetition has borne its fruits in the form of 3 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze medals by these children in South Korea. This has been achieved and has created a history in the Nepali Taekwondo sports in same level.
