In March 2020, the emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic pushed Montessori public schools to operate remotely and to change their strategies to continue serving around 30,000 families in Puerto Rico.
Since then, the Montessori Assistants provided to public schools by INE have worked non-stop to help the teachers and families to implement the Montessori philosophy in their homes. One of the many ways the Montessori at Home project is helping the communities is by creating "homemade" Montessori materials for each student so they can, in some way, replicate their classroom experiences at home. This task has been done with a lot of love, but also with the support of many donors like Ankura.
During the summer, Montessori at home project also worked with the school communities to recollect the necessities of the families and based on that created a comprehensive plan to continue providing an excellent education while keeping the families safe, physically and mentally in the fall semester.
At INE we are grateful for all your support in making this project a succes despite diffcult times.
