This micro project will construct a two room decent affordable house for a widow of 5, she has a small piece of land that was left to her by her late husband but without a shelter, Katy was renting but rental costs have gone high yet her small business was greatly hit by COVID19 pandemic, our project is supporting her recover her business but the business hasn't reached the level of enabling her meet such needs like construction
children need to have some where they call home and for Katy's case, she was left in a rental when her husband still lived, a home brings self-respect and security and can form the basis for health and wellbeing and the chance of a better life. Widows and their children often live in difficult economic, social and environmental conditions which have material,physical, social and political consequences
In a small piece of land owned by Katty is where we will construct an affordable but strong two room shelter which will house her and her children, our programme is helping boost her small income generating business to enable her take care of her little ones, our programme is also enrolling her children in our sponsorship programme
Once Katy and her children have somewhere to call home, the rest will be easy to handle, her small business will grow, family income will grow, she has been enrolled in a village women development group where she will be able to save and borrow interest free loans in her community, this family has a future as long as they have a permanent address which is a home
