This Ramadan Karama Organization is organizing a solidarity campaign for the most vulnerable households in the southern West Bank, in refugee camps and Area C. We will provide them with food packages, vouchers for fresh food products, and a warm iftar meal to break their fast. Vulnerabilities are high due to the COVID19 pandemic, declining economy, and violent attacks from settlers and the occupation. Join local and global friends and donors and help us help Palestinians this Ramadan!
Many households risk going without healthy meals this Ramadan, missing income sources and jobs due to the COVID19 pandemic, bad economy, and many security threats. Palestinian communities in the West Bank continue to suffer from Israel's unjust occupation, but our protests are ongoing. The world has not forgotten Palestine. Karama will organize a solidarity campaign this Ramadan to support families' food security, build community and uplift their spirits.
Karama will work with local stakeholders and private sector to arrange food distributions and an iftar kitchen. The plan is to cook for 250 people on several days reaching up to 12,000 Palestinians for a healthy meal to break their fast. In addition, families will receive a food package in the first week of Ramadan that will contain key ingredients to help them cook nutritious meals for breaking their fast. The package will contain vouchers to "buy" fresh vegetables and chicken from local shops.
Solidarity will support the Palestinian community, while the project builds on local markets and will stimulate the local economy. People can hopefully put some money aside, savings from their food spending, to celebrate Eid l Fitr at the end of the holy month of Ramadan with their loved ones.
