Thank you so much for your support of Madonna, Tiki, Gasper, the Three Muskateers, and our other meerkats! Although we didn't quite meet the funding goal, we raised enough to sponsor their food and care for the rest of the year and we will continue fundraising for 2017!
Our meerkats are always busy digging new tunnels and keeping careful watch of the DAKTARI camp. However, they do find plenty of time for play as well. Our volunteers are encouraged to find ways to provide enrichment for our animals so they get extra stimulation during the week. Every afternoon they choose a new animal at the camp to work with. This can include hiding food for them to find, rearranging their enclosures so they have new things to explore, or even feeding them a treat. Recently, our volunteers created a new toy for the meerkats. You can watch a video of one of the three muskateers playing with it below!
