DAKTARI has six predatory birds, three eagles (Jumper, Scotty and Bowie) and three owls (Coco, Alex and Marco). All six are unable to fly properly and cannot survive in the wild on their own. DAKTARI has helped rehabilitate them and now they are cared for at our camp. They all need food and care for the next year.
All of DAKTARI's predatory birds have been injured and are no longer able to hunt for their food. They have all come to DAKTARI for a second chance at life! We need funding to cover food and care for these birds, as well as the maintenance of their enclosures.
Funding from the project will go to feeding and caring for all six of our predatory birds. Their presence at DAKTARI also gives the children an opportunity to learn about these types of animals and how they can protect them.
A positive and clean environment with healthy and cared-for animals serves to push our impact on the children, and consequently on the community. Likewise, through the education of the future generations of the area, we aim to make a lasting impact on the local wildlife.
