Thank you so much for your donation to support our jackals, Minnie and JP! Although we didn't quite meet the fundraising goal, we did raise enough to support their care for the next several months and we'll continue raising funds for the remainder of the year.
Minnie and JP continue to be fantastic ambassadors for our children that visit DAKTARI. They are a bit more wild now than usual as it's their mating season but the children are always amazed to see Minnie come to the fence and greet them when they go past.
You may be wondering what we feed the jackals...well, they get a mix of different meats. Mostly chicken, mice, and then we supplement with chicken livers and game meat if it's available. This gives the jackals a good variety of meals and ensures that they have their necessary vitamins.
In terms of care, the jackals are pretty low maintenance. They will be getting their rabies shots soon and are otherwise healthy!
