DAKTARI welcomed two Jackals to our wildlife orphanage in early 2016. They were given to DAKTARI by the Moholoholo Rehabilitation Centre after they were hand-raised from pups. We need to provide them with food and care for a year.
Being hand-raised makes it unlikely that the Jackals will be able to be released into the wild. DAKTARI needs to provide them with food and care, as well as maintain their enclosure.
This project will help us feed the Jackals and provide them with care for a full year! We will also maintain their camp and be able to update their surroundings to provide stimulation for them.
A positive and clean environment with healthy and cared-for animals serves to push our impact on the children, and consequently on the community. Likewise, through the education of the future generations of the area, we aim to make a lasting impact on the local wildlife.
