Thank you so much for your support of Maxi, Chancy, Nyalou, and the rest! Although we didn't quite meet the funding goal, we raised enough to sponsor their food and care for the rest of the year and we will continue fundraising for 2017!
It is an exciting time for the antelope - baby season. Today we met Maxi's new baby, born just this morning! It was the most spectacular way to start the week. Several of our other antelope are pregnant and will hopefully have their healthy babies soon too.
Unfortunately, it's not always good news. The severe drought in South Africa has created a food shortage in the bush. Our antelope are no longer able to forage for food in the bush as they once did. We have started to provide more food for them at the camp and also put out hay bales further away for the less tame antelope to eat. We are crossing our fingers for a lot of rain in the coming months. Rainy season starts in September!
