80% of the Youth in our Community lack skill to become productive as well as creative. Our project has identified 20 youth (boys & girls) who expressed their interest to learn computer and internet and set a career in computers. After the training the youth would become self-sufficient. We aim at training needy youth to become skilled, productive and creative in computer related jobs.
Over 600 youth in Mpigi have no access to technology and, as a result, they fall behind their peers. Most companies advertise jobs online and ask applications be submitted online, over 50 youth have missed these opportunities because they have no idea on how to use internet and a few that can use it cannot access the service.
The project will provide computer literacy in software and hardware to 20 identified youth in Mpigi district. This training will enable needy youth to become skilled, productive and creative in computer related jobs.
Most of the youth would be retained at the Mountains of Hope center to train computer, others would be hired in the near by businesses and schools to operate computer bureau and computer laboratories
