We are excited to share with you that we were able to raise the needed money for this clinic from a variety of sources so your donation to this project helped us make it happen! Thank YOU!
As part of their curriculum while in Andros on their study abroad project, the students and faculty of Columbus State University, Columbus, Georgia, United States, volunteered in partnership with Potcakes of Andros, Baark! and ForFar Field Station to provide a Free Spay/Neuter initiative in the Stafford Creek, Andros area and adjacent communities.
On March 17th and 18th, this third annual clinic proved to be even more successful than the two prior, suggesting that community outreach to advance companion animal care and educational initiatives in combination with providing Professional Veterinary care in a Family Island of the Bahamas, where there is no established Professional Veterinary Medical practice.
Additionally, clinics such as these generously supported, funded and/or supplemented by Baark! and Baark!’s financial supporters provide Professional Veterinary Medical care to the stray and street Potcake populations throughout the Family Islands who would otherwise never receive such care.
Although a lofty goal of 50 procedures was established for this mini-clinic, 33 procedures were in fact completed, a very respectable tally for one and one-half days. Countless numbers of lives, both Potcake and Human were recipients of passionate and compassionate care by others from abroad who simply long to give back and quietly make a difference without accolades.
