The continuing annual spay/neuter initiative will assist in maintaining population control in Stafford Creek, Andros and immediately adjacent communities. Additionally, it will provide for much needed professional veterinary medical services in North Central Andros where non exist in Andros in it's entirety.
Spay/Neuter services are not available in Andros which helps combat the problem of homeless and overpopulations of stray dogs and cats. Additionally, ready access to veterinary services in Andros is non-existent so, pets as well as stray or feral animals receive no preventative care without these initiatives.
This clinic to be held March 17-18th 2019 will provide professional veterinary medical services via M.A.S.H. type spay/neuter services, vaccinations, treatment for internal and external parasites along with preventative care. We aim to complete 50 sterilization surgeries during this clinic.
1 unaltered female dog and her subsequent offspring can produce 67,000 puppies in only 6 years.*(peta) An unspayed female cat and all of their offspring, producing 2 litters of kittens per year, can produce well over 10,000 kittens in 5 years. This program will provide a dramatic reduction in the number of puppies and kittens will be born to suffer in Andros. Less stray animals also provide safer and healthier communities. Education will bring more compassionate behavior.
