For the women working in the bars, Christmas is just a day that is more busy. They can't spend time with their families and children but have to be available for the customers. But we want to share the joy of Christmas with them. Our goal is to distribute 1000 Gift Bags to the women working in the bars of Pattaya. We want to encourage them, bring them joy, vouchers for free Hair treatment, cookies and an opportunity to connect with our team for a chance to start a vocational training program.
Now after Covid-19 is over sadly thousands of women are flocking to Pattaya in search for easy money to help their families. The bars are full and many of the women, do actually not want to be in the bars and working in prostitution - but they do it, as they see no other opportunity for themselves or their families. Due to the economic downturn, high inflation, the need is even bigger than in the years before.
We distributed gift bags to the women for Mother's Day and it brought a lot of joy. Many women came after the distribution to our Center, used their vouchers and talked with our Staff about our free vocational training options and two women came and moved in our safe houses to start a new life. We want to distribute 1000 gift bags this year, to share the joy of Christmas, advertise free vocational training, give gifts and hope to start conversations with the women about leaving the bars.
Our goal for the women is to leave Pattaya, maybe return to their families and to have a normal life outside of the sex industry. We will train the women job skills and help them to find employment or help them to start their own small business so that they can provide for themselves and their children. Also, when they return to their families, they will help to prevent other young girls and boys to start a work in the sex industry.
