Dear friends,
thank you for supporting little Zhenia. Your contribution makes it possible for the 4-year-old boy to receive special treatment that is not available in Ukraine.
In January Zhenia with his daddy Pavlo went for treatment to Bergamo, Italy. According to the protocol, at first Zhenia received chemotherapy and then his own stem cells were selected for future transplantation. Now he receives chemotherapy again that will be followed by MIBG therapy, special radiotherapy. This complex treatment is aimed at overcoming neuroblastoma – now the tumor stopped growing, that’s why it is a perfect time to destroy it.
The first chemo cycles were not easy for Zhenia: he had infections, stomatitis and fever. One night he had a temperature of 38.5 C and he had to be brought to the hospital immediately. Our volunteer in Italy Aliona helped the family and brought them to the hospital even at night. Zhenia remained hospitalized for 5 days receiving antifungal drugs, antibiotics and analgesics. It was hard but the boy endured everything courageously.
In February Zhenia continues receiving chemo in a day hospital regime while living in the apartment provided by the church. In March he will have a high dose chemotherapy before MIBG therapy and transplantation.
In this FB group Zhenia’s father Pavlo regularly publishes updates, pictures and videos for many people who supported the boy: https://www.facebook.com/groups/867856510044584.
Thank you for giving Zhenia a chance to live! ♥
