This project will improve water, sanitation, and hygiene for 250 children at a rural madrasa in climate-vulnerable Bangladesh. We will construct 4 toilets and install a 1,000-liter water tank on a 20-foot concrete platform, using an electric pump to draw water from the existing tube well. Plumbing, handwashing facilities, and soap will promote better hygiene, reduce exposure to sanitation-related health risks, and create a cleaner, safer learning environment for boys and girls.
Approximately 250 children at a rural madrasa in climate-vulnerable Bangladesh face inadequate sanitation due to damaged or unhygienic toilets, insufficient water and handwashing facilities, and the lack of separate toilets for boys and girls. These conditions can compromise children's health, privacy, and dignity and make it difficult to maintain proper hygiene. The project will address these sanitation gaps and help create a healthier, safer, and more inclusive learning environment.
