The war continues, and we still have to survive every day and learn to live with all these traumatic events happening in our country. The most heartbreaking part is that our children, who belong to the most vulnerable part of the population, have to endure this hardship.
Since we were unable to collect the necessary funds for the project on our own, we decided not to stop but to do even more—expanding this initiative and involving outstanding partners. Thanks to the support of Olympic champion Liliya Podkopayeva and the active participation of the supermarket chain "EKO MARKET," our initiative has reached an even greater scale. Together, we were able to implement this important endeavor aimed at helping children who require special attention, support, and care. Their well-being is our shared mission, which we continue to bring to life.
A sensory room for children with special needs, psycho-emotional difficulties, and post-traumatic disorders has been opened at the Kyiv Regional Children's Hospital in Boyarka. This sensory room was created by the charitable foundation "Tvoya Opora" with generous financial support from customers of the "EKO MARKET" supermarket chain and with the assistance of Olympic champion Liliya Podkopayeva. The total amount of funds raised reached 1.3 million hryvnias.
Valeria Tatarchuk, founder of the "Tvoya Opora" foundation, stated:
"The opening of the sensory room at the Kyiv Regional Children's Hospital is a significant step in supporting children who have suffered the most from the war. Thanks to the generous support of the customers of the 'EKO MARKET' supermarket chain and the advocacy of our project ambassador, Liliya Podkopayeva, we were able to bring this project to life together. This is an example of how collective efforts can create real change, giving children a chance for recovery, care, and a future. I sincerely thank everyone who contributed to this important cause!"
The sensory room is already in operation, helping children undergo rehabilitation. It is equipped with modern elements such as a bubble tube, fiber optic light strands, a dry ball pit, sensory toys, exercise equipment, musical pillows, and other tools that promote emotional and physical recovery.
Inna Miroshnychenko, president of the "EKO MARKET" supermarket chain, emphasized:
"At 'EKO MARKET,' we believe that business is not just about goods and services but also about caring. This project is a manifestation of our collective concern. We are sincerely grateful to everyone who contributed to the fundraising. Together, we have created a place where children can find peace, regain their strength, and feel happy."
Over the past year and a half, nearly 2,000 children have undergone inpatient treatment in the hospital's rehabilitation department. Among them are children with limited daily functioning, disabilities, and those who have suffered as a result of the war.
Kateryna Savinova, general director of the hospital, added:
"The sensory room is not only about comfort but also an effective tool for the physical, cognitive, and psychological development of children. With these new opportunities and specialized equipment, we will be able to provide even more effective assistance to our young patients."
The "Tvoya Opora" charitable foundation continues to implement projects that change the lives of children and their families, bringing them hope and care.
We also sincerely thank everyone who made donations on the platform. Thanks to you, we were able to bring this project closer to reality and help the children who need it most.
