Challenge

This project addresses the critical issue of psychological trauma among children affected by the war in the Bucha region. These children bear deep emotional scars impacting their mental health. A sensory room in the Kyiv Regional Children's Hospital would offer them a safe, therapeutic space to process experiences, find calm, and begin healing. The project aims to restore security and normalcy, helping children reconnect with their childhood and move toward recovery.

Solution

This project will help address the problem by creating a sensory room in the Kyiv Regional Children's Hospital, providing a safe and calming environment where children affected by the war can begin to heal. Through soothing sounds, lights, and textures, the sensory room will offer therapeutic experiences that help children process their trauma, reduce anxiety, and find a sense of peace. By offering this space, the project supports emotional recovery, helping children regain a sense of safety, r

Long-Term Impact

At the moment, 21 hospitals from 5 regions of Ukraine have applied to our charitable foundation for help: Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv. And requests for help from hospitals continue to arrive. We estimate that there are more than 4,000 patients in these hospitals on an ongoing basis. Apart from the injured, there are also non-transportable patients, pregnant and postpartum women.
