Alice is a young, spunky, girl living in the central part of Uganda. Her love for school is her motivation to continue her education despite being born deaf. During her mother's pregnancy with her, her mother contracted rubella, a contagious viral disease which causes fetal malformation. Being deaf, Alice attends a boarding school for the deaf but the cost is much too high for her family to afford. Alice relies on GlobalGiving Donations to pay for her school fees and school materials.
Alice is growing up in a very poor area in Uganda. Many families live in houses made of mud and bricks with grass thatched roofs. A typical diet consists of cassava, maize and beans. Life is difficult in this area and more so when a child is born deaf. Without your support, Alice will not attend the boarding school for the deaf, as it is not deemed necessary compared to basic necessities such as food and water.
This project will enable to Alice remain in school and complete her education.Your donation commitment will help provide Alice with an education, improved healthcare and other basic needs. With your support, she will continue attending school and reaching for her goals in life.
Your support and commitment will enable her to experience the best life, quality education and live a satisfactory life.
