Summary

The project will buy 10 rabbits for starters and construct a cage for a family rabbit project,profits from rearing rabbits can come in many ways: You can sell the urine because many farmers use it as an insecticide, the manure for fertiliser and the meat whose demand is growing worldwide and is served in several hotels and restaurants,it takes rabbits 70 days from birth to reach market weight.

Challenge

The family is needy,lives in a small piece of land,Rearing rabbits does not require a lot of space because they can live in cages. Less capital is needed to start this project which this family does not have.

Solution

The project will buy 10 rabbits and construct cages for the family to enable them start up the income generating activity, there is ready market for the rabbits as the nearby factory uses rabbit meat for making sausages.Doctors have said red meat from most livestock animals is not healthy. Rabbit meat, a white meat is a healthier option.

Long-Term Impact

Daily food and clean drinking water are a basic need for rabbits, the rabbits can eat mash, banana peelings, Irish and sweet potato peels as well as grass which is readily available in the community.
