Thank you very much for your support to our request for sweaters for children in Sphoorti and other orphanages in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Together with support from other sources, we have ben able to raise enough funds to purchase more than 1000 sweaters.
These sweaters were distributed to 6 orphanages in Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Kurnool, Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam.
Most of the children were wearing sweaters for the first time in their lives.
In December and January, temperatures dropped unusually resulting in a lot of deaths of children and the aged in parts of the two Telugu states.
The effect of climate change is very evident in our states. The summer temperatures are soaring and winters are harsher than ever. Your gesture has eased things for our beneficiary children to a great extent.
Our children were kept warm by your support, they were able to study well and do well in their examinations. Two Sphoorti children stood first in their school with a GPA of 9.5 It is because they were able to protect their health in December and January because of the gift of sweaters.
It's not just a sweater, it is a life-saving gesture.
