After receiving funding for the micro project “Provide Sophat and her family with 17 chickens” the team introduced Sophat’s family and the local authorities about the aim of the micro project to provide further support to improve the livelihood of individual households from the “Empower 325 Cambodian Families to be Self Reliant” project.
The project team has elaborated a one year activity plan with Sophat’s family for chicken raising. As a result, Sophat will build a chicken house and a fence around it from late January until the end of April 2013. And from May until the end of the year 2013, Sophat will start raising chickens with the technical support from our project team. The project team has provided the first share of funds with USD 120 for the house pen and the fence around the house pen.
At the end of the meeting, Sophat expressed her grateful thanks to CRDT and especially to the donors who kindly supported her family with chicken raising. She on behalf of her family expressed that she will strongly commit to raising chicken successfully in pursuit of improving her current livelihood situation. In addition Mr. Meng, village chief of Breykor village, also thanked very much CRDT and Global Giving donors for supporting his villagers.
