A large percentage of children living in slums are malnourished. Their parents are unable to afford a healthy and balanced diet. Weak and hungry children are not able to focus on their learning and other activities, and are not able to realise their full potential. The micro project envisages to provide food supplement to 500 children living in slums.
The project would solve the problem of hunger and malnourishment in the poor and underprivileged kids living in the slums and are enrolled at the Centre. More than 50% of the children are underweight and show other signs of malnourishment. It is difficult for them to focus on studies when they come on an empty stomach. Most of the families are not able to afford fruits and vegetable to provide their kids a healthy and balanced diet.
The micro project aims to provide one apple to each kid every day. This would help in improving their nutritional status to a great extent. It would not only add nutritive value to their daily food, but also help them in building resistance and fighting diseases. Added apple to their diet would certainly make them healthier and stronger.
The parent project will help children remain in school and complete their cycle of primary education. The micro project would help in improving the nutritional and health status of the children. The children would not only remain healthy, but would also be happier and grow better. They would be able to focus on their learning and extra curricular activities being taken up at the centres.
