Mountains of Hope is proud of your generosity, you donated $2000 and over 500 are able to feed for a whole school term in Uganda, thank you for your continued support to our projects on Globalgiving, your donations worth $2000 have been used to buy food to feed over 500 children in Primary schools in Uganda, a head teacher in one of the schools said "This is going to tremendously casue a turn around in the pupils performance, children can not learn on empty stomach"
According to the Education depertment in Mpigi District, one of the causes of poor performance in schools is hunger, we expect this to change now that this term children will have lunch at school.
Other Globalgiving donors like you have supported a project to establish school gardens to ensure children have enough food for the pupils for all the three school terms.
Each class cultivates its different kind of food ie Grade 5 cultivates bananas, Grade 4 cultivates beans, Grade seven cultivates maize, Grade 3 cultivates tomatoes and at the end of the day, all these foods are brought in a pool and one meal is prepared for a whole school, the school contributes only the cooks payment, salt, fire wood and water for food preparations.
This project will continue asking for your donations to enable these schools establish more school gardens to enble children have lunch at school.
