Summary

Our tailoring trainees would love to get trained on using a Professional Singer Sewing Machine. Unfortunately the center does not have one that the trainees can use. This project can change that and empower the trainees. This will enhance learning as they currently only have access to manually operated sewing machines - foot driven by a large pedal. This will further broaden their future opportunities and earning potential.

Challenge

This project will solve the problem of a lack of training tools. Training cannot be provided in this area simply because professional sewing machine are not available. The provision of this machine will enhance learning as trainees will be exposed to and able to use an enhanced sewing machine - better than the ones currently used. Learning will be increased and this will open up new opportunities.

Solution

This microporoject will provide the funds needed for purchase of the sewing machine. It will diversify learning opportunities and enable participants to be better trained. The provision of this vital tool will transform learning.

Long-Term Impact

Project empowers youths to move from poverty and unemployment to self-sufficiency. It will contribute to youth development in skills for self-reliance and entrepreneurship, creating employment opportunities for ex-combatants & disadvantaged youths. Additionally, this will help provide a source of income to support the school as they will be able to produce a higher quality of garments - embroidered etc,
