Did you know that since the end of March 2020 South Africa has been in a strict lock down? Our Government has provided emergency financial relief for many of our parents who were unemployed in the tourist industry, but at the end of July this ends. And we are worried. We are only reaching our Covid19 peak infection rate NOW. We are concerned we will lose more children and vulnerable people to starvation, rather than Covid. Give today to help us provide food for our families.
Food security as a result of people losing their jobs from the collapse of the tourism industry. There are one hundred and seventy seven families in our community who have NO income at all. This means they rely totally on food donations funded by people like YOU. Many have lost their jobs as a direct result of the collapse of the tourist industry. Food parcels to these households will be the ONLY food they get, to feed their families, including African Angels learners.
USD$40 will provide a family of four with a food parcel that will last four weeks. The effects of Covid19 in our area are not going away anytime soon, and a monthly $40 donation will mean a family can survive until the tourism industry gets back their feet.
This project will support one hundred and forty two families who children attend African Angels. THESE children will will innovate, and be the hope for our future. African Angels educates children who have limited resources and live in situations that are unimaginable to most of us, yet they are determined to grow into educated, productive and responsible citizens.
Every microproject is intended to use the donations it receives in accordance with its stated description; however, it is important to provide project leaders with the flexibility to maximize the potential benefit from the donations they receive. This means that your donation may be used as a part of the main project that supports this microproject, specifically Help us educate 142 African Angels in South Africa. In this event, the project leader is required to post an update to the microproject detailing the results and reasons behind this change.
If you or any other donor is unhappy with the way their funds have been used, he or she can reallocate their donation using the GlobalGiving guarantee.
