Dear Friends,
We are now able to report that AIL has accumulated sufficient funds to buy 12 sewing machines. Thanks to your generous support, staff are replacing worn out old machines and at some Learning Centers adding more machines to increase capacity. Four centers will benefit from the latest purchases. Three centers are in Herat and one is in Kabul. Staff will continue to respond to the need for machines as they arise and change allocations if necessary. One Herat center will receive 3 machines to replace its worn out stock and a second center will get 4 new machines with the third getting two machines. The Kabul center will receive 3 machines.
Learning to sew can be life changing for students. One of students from literacy and sewing class said: ”My name is Aziza. I have a lot of problems in my life as my parents are dead and I was illiterate. I never thought that I could not be educated but from the day that I joined this learning center I started learning. Now I can read and write and I am also sewing clothes and I can earn money doing that. So I thank the AIL organization for providing us these opportunities.”
Thank you for your interest and support.
