Joanna rescued Max and Bella when she moved to Russia to keep her company while her husband worked. Max also offered her protection. She never thought that it would be her husband that she needed protection from. We are working with Joanna to escape and come back to the USA. If Joanna can't get Max and Bella back home, she will have to euthanize them. She is heartbroken, but she knows if she flees and leaves them with her husband, he will beat them.
American victims of domestic violence in foreign countries often have pets. They want to flee but don't want to leave their pets behind for fear they will be abused, beaten and starved to death by their perpetrator. Max and Bella will be able to return home if funds are raised to provide the necessary health certificates, crates and fees to fly them back home.
Max and Bella will be able to return safely to the USA and not be euthanized in Russia when Joanna escapes abuse.
We will provide services to 150 American victims with pets in approximately 50 countries while they are fleeing violence. Our goal is to have all of them reach safety with their pets and live their lives without violence in their homes.
