NFTE's entrepreneurship students come alive when they interact with business coaches and mentors from the community throughout the NFTE programmatic year. Given Greater Boston is full of entrepreneurial companies eager to give back, NFTE New England is seeking to implement new mentoring programs, which will allow students to be trained by some of the area's best entrepreneurs.
Our NFTE teachers and students work so hard every day in the classroom to think innovatively, create business plans, and becoming entrepreneurial citizens. Each student deserves to hear from a guest speaker who launched a local company and work with a mentor to help them launch a business. These mentors can offer valuable training to our students.
This project will allow NFTE New England to support 250 volunteers this academic year in our classrooms, creating a win-win-win for students, teachers and volunteers alike. Funds will go towards classroom projects and seminars from the volunteers, as well as the organizational and administrative cost of running a program for NFTE New England's schools. Students will increase their own network, learn from experts, and understand what it takes to succeed in the 21st century workforce.
By working to keep at-risk students engaged in their school work, NFTE spurs its participants to graduate high school and dare to dream of a brighter future. Whether they pursue higher education, enter the workforce, or start their own business, NFTE instills an entrepreneurial mindset in young people so they can plan for success. Since 1987 NFTE has worked with over 500,000 students across the U.S. and around the world.
