This project will provide essential medications to children receiving cancer treatment in Ghana. Many families struggle to afford supportive medicines that help children manage infections, pain, nausea, and treatment side effects. By providing these essential medications, the project will help children continue treatment, improve their quality of life, and increase their chances of recovery.
Many children with cancer in Ghana face barriers to accessing essential medications due to financial hardship and medicine shortages. While cancer treatment is already expensive, families often cannot afford the supportive medicines needed during treatment. Without these medications, children are at greater risk of complications, treatment delays, and poor health outcomes, placing additional emotional and financial strain on their families.
This project will provide essential medications for children undergoing cancer treatment in partnership with pediatric oncology units in Ghana. We will identify priority medication needs, purchase and donate approved medicines, and work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure children receive the support they need throughout their treatment.
The project will improve access to life-saving medications for children with cancer, helping them complete treatment with fewer complications. It will reduce the financial burden on families, strengthen pediatric cancer care, and give more children the opportunity to recover, return to school, and live healthier lives.
