Abdulrahman Aminu has a dream of creating a low-cost welding company for the Kari region in Bauchi State Nigeria. With the proper business training Aminu will make Abdulrahman Welders a reality, employing 5 people. Local citizens will learn to restore gates, fences, windows & doors currently in disrepair creating an alternative to full replacement (which many cannot afford). In turn, families, businesses and government agencies will be strengthening the infrastructure of the local economy.
The Kari Region of Bauchi State Nigeria currently faces high rates of unemployment. Leadership Initiatives seeks to solve this problem by offering promising community leaders with entrepreneurial, leadership and project management training. These young leaders then identify obstacles to development within their own communities, in this case a lack of proper welding repair services in Kari. Together we create sustainable business models and find local investors to solve the problem.
This microproject will provide welding training for Abdulrahman Aminu and four other individuals from an experienced welder in the capital of Bauchi. Once created Abdulrahman welders will provide welding repair services to families, businesses & government agencies that cannot afford to replace doors, chairs, gates, fences, security bars for windows & more. Dilapidated buildings will be repaired & renewed allowing the community to see and utilize infrasturucture growth for the first time.
Develop independent profit-generating businesses that serve as models for growth in surrounding communities. Project beneficiaries fill voids in the local economy while improving their families' health, education and financial stability. Previous leaders have sent their brothers, sisters and children to school, helped invest in new businesses within the community, offered new services to community members such as the disabled, establishing infrastructure for the future growth of Nigeria.
