Students showcase new vocational skills

The project ran for 3 months and was designed by SI4DEV partner Monisola A, it was implemented in partnership with The Spring Development Initiative, USA. The project objective was to reduce the number of unemployed youths in Yenegwe community, Bayelsa state.


Assessment of the project
Relevant
The project design and objective were relevant. The project made a deliberate effort to reach out to Yenegwe community, findings of the project baseline survey provided evidence of high rate of unemployment in the community.
Effective
The project was 90 percent effective as it met all its objectives, 4 weeks after the training, 75 percent of the youths have already started businesses, 2 participants who attended the training are already training others in the community, 50 youths were trained.
Efficiency
Resources was efficiently used, due to price fluctuations resources escalated the budget.
Sustainability plan
Follow up on participants to know beneficiaries progress and mentor them, participants are to train at least 5 people on the skill learned in Yenegwe community in other to reduce the unemployment rate among youths.
Impact
50 youths trained
35 youths have started their business
2 youths are training others
