Micro Project Report

Dear Alon and Anonymous friend,

Thank you so much for you support of our micro project. As you may or may not be aware, the two of you were the only ones to donate to the project however have no fear, we were able to take the 154 children camping during the time I had stated and this was made partly possible by you both.

The children received a multitude of badges for skills they learnt during this time including but not limited to:

- Map Reading

-First Aid

-Quarter Master

-Fires and Cooking

-Project Management

-Patrol Camping

-Backwoodsman

All of these skills are essential to progress in our scouts program, not only that but they build the childs self esteem and self confidence and helps them feel good about themselves, which doesnt happen in their communities. The only reinforcement they receive is negative so to come away from camp having learnt new skills and having those skills recognised with wearing badges of achievement mean so much to these kids. YOU were a part of this process.

Through these kids earning the badges they feel far more confident and this builds resilience for the pressures they face back in their villages. The children with badges become role models for those who are aspiring. It would be great to be able to take all our kids camping so they can also build themselves up.

By building resilience this has a knock on effect with our children in terms of what the overall achievement of the organization is, for example:

 1) Reduced teenage pregnancy from 13% in Limpopo to 0.07% in our program sustained for 15years

2) Matriculation pass rate is 62% in Limpopo, in our program it is 92% for 10years

3) Nationally 10% of all natural deaths amongst children are suicide; we have had 0% suicides in our program

4) All of our children have to go to school to be a part of our program; children actually drop back in to school to take part in our program.

This is to name a few results we have achieved.

You matter to us. You are enabling us to achieve these outstanding effects. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is incredible and I am humbled and overwhelmed. We have had peoples support for over 15years. We have seen in excess of 12,000 children through our program. We have changed lives together.

I just want you to know you matter! You matter to us. Thank you.

Please consider making a monthly donation to our program so that we can sustain these amazing results, it is only possible through people such as yourself.

Thank you once again

Louise
