Lifesaving Therapy for Max with Achondroplasia

Summary

This microproject will help baby Max, who has a rare genetic condition called achondroplasia, get the only medicine in the world that can help him grow healthier. Treatment must start in the first year of life because this is when a child grows the fastest. Your support will give Max the chance to begin therapy now and change his future.

Challenge

This microproject will help Max, the youngest child in Ukraine with achondroplasia, a condition that slows bone growth and causes short stature, get life-saving Voxzogo medicine. Each dose costs $700 per day. Early treatment will help him grow more normally, prevent serious complications, and give him a chance for a healthier life. Support now lets Max start therapy immediately and gives hope to other children too.

Solution

Max is only six months old, and treatment in the first year is crucial. Without it, his bones could grow unevenly, causing long-term problems. Voxzogo is already used in other countries, but in Ukraine the state is still starting the process to buy it. Families cannot afford this expensive medicine on their own, so Max needs urgent help to start therapy on time.

Long-Term Impact

Your donations will pay for Voxzogo so Max can start treatment immediately, before state supplies arrive. This medicine is very costly and otherwise unavailable to the family. Early therapy will help Max's body grow properly, reduce the risk of serious health problems, and improve his chances for a better life. Every donation makes a real difference in his growth and development.
