Hunger is pure hell... Anyone who has experienced it, knows exactly what these children were going through before they were taken on to the Live and Learn in Kenya Int'l program. Many people have been fasting for the past 40 days before Easter. They gave up something special - sweets, snacks, meat... Few people actually eat nothing at all. But all forms of fasting means doing without. Every major religion holds some form of fasting for good and necessary. When it is your own decision, it is wonderful. When it is because of poverty - it is just pain and weakness and totally overwhelming for parents to see their children going hungry.
GlobalGiving has helped to make some major changes for our work in the Rhonda Slums in Nakuru, Kenya. With all of your kind and generous donations, hundreds of children have been eating and just plain enjoying life.
A carefree childhood is pure heaven... Thank you for helping to make this happen.
