Nine of AIL's Learning Centers have pre-school classes. These classes provide vital education that helps children prepare for success in primary school. Women who attend classes themselves at a center take advantage of the pre-school class for their youngest children. Some centers have no outdoor playground equipment. This project will provide a playset which can include, swing, see saw and climbing frame or other equipment.
AIL's pre-schools lack playground equipment or have very old pieces of play equipment that need replacing. Children in pre-school need a safe environment to play and do physical education. Other children use the playgrounds while waiting for their mothers to finish their classes at the centers.
Playground equipment will be purchased so that one pre-school will have a safe and fun outdoor space. The equipment provided will depend on availability of products and the space but can include see saw, swings, climbing frame, balance beam or other items.
Young children need a safe place to play outside to expend physical energy, exercise and get fresh air. The children will be physically and mentally healthier if they are provided with a good outdoor play space.
