Dear Li Hoon Wong,
Congratulations on having vision and understanding that leadership is a skill that needs to be learnt and taught. However unfortunately we only received one donation towards this project, yours! The good news is that even if others have been unable to donate or see the vision we share it doesnt mean this will stop us.
The donation of $25 which you made will go towards taking children to camp later in the year. Each year we have children take the initiative to fundraise themselves in order to go to camp and have intensive leadership training. The money you have donated will be able to support 2 children for 5days camping. I will choose those children who would, with out your help not be able to attend.
These camps happen during the school holidays in June and July. In the mean time we continue to work on developing leadership skills. Each child attends weekly groups called Troops. The Troops are broken into smaller groups called Patrols with a patrol leader and assistant patrol leader, they are already in leadership, practicing their skills. Skills such as negotiation, communication, conflict resolution to name a few. As you can expect we base all of these skills around fun and learning by doing.
