This project will enable 15 kids to celebrate Christmas together outside home. Last year, Globalgiving donors provided funding for the same and it was wonderful.This Christmas party will delight kids providing a fun and interactive experience never seen before, they will have a special lunch and dinner outing in a kids play center in Kampala capital city-Uganda, this will enable them share gifts, tell stories and have a wonderful play and relaxation time.
In the past two years,03 children in our community have committed suicide due to stress, an outcome derived from the loss of a parent,some of the children we live with have been traumatized before, this trauma can not just go, it takes time, this event is one of the ways we are exploring to reduce stress and trauma among them, a counselor will also be available to give motivational stories on success, etc.
This project will give children an opportunity to play,and express their views, we will book lunch and dinner in a kids playing center to enable them enjoy their first Christmas outside home. There will be cutting of cake, face painting, driving electric cars, sharing of gifts, singing and dancing. The kids will have rice, meat, chicken and ice cream in their diet and a soft drink.
This exposure will enable kids relax, share gifts, share their experiences, and tell stories in a wonderful new environment outside home for one day with the house mothers. Everything we do for these kids now will never be erased from their memories forever, they will tell it and memorize this forever.
