This microproject wil bring free music training to deserving teachers and their students in underserved schools around the U.S. Many have gone it alone, training online from small towns to sprawling districts, learning to sing, play, and teach everything through music. Your support will help them grow free, inclusive programs in their communities, creating better learning through music for children in need. Your gift funds planning, implementation, instruments and 1-on-1 coaching through 2025!
In many economically challenged communities around the U.S. children in preschool through third grade have little or no access to learning to make music. A large percentage are 2 years behind in social-emotional, literacy and math skills because of pandemic learning loss, and social isolation. This generation is at risk. They have trouble focusing, many feel anxious, and they are missing foundational academic skills that make higher learning possible. Teachers need ways to fully engage them.
Funds from this project will be put into action at the start of the school year! We know who to help, so empowering and equiping these local teachers to spread learning through music is a matter of capacity. You gifts can facilitate GITC bringing thousands of students back to learning in a joyful and socially rewarding way with playing ukulele and guitar, singing, and writing lessons into songs that they will never forget. When you help us train a teacher and your caring will change many lives.
This work instills life-long love of learning & success and music! It imparts a permanent solution because teachers train and keep playing for years at school. All children are reached, including those in Title 1 and public school classrooms- GITC creates precious musical opportunities for everyone. This approach makes classrooms happier places, enables students to bring up their grades and test scores, schools get stronger, and teachers acquire an inspiring new way to do their best!
