LGBT Voice is in need of a permanent ,safe and secure office space with confidentiality with our services and our client's information; because of the risky important work the organization do in the struggle equality in Tanzania, so that one day Tanzania will be a country where no one has to sacrifice their family, freedom, safety or dignity because of who they are or who they love.
LGBT Voice rents a small office situated in a commercial area with shops and other businesses so it`s not safe for our organization based on the nature of our work and the general public is not LGBT friendly most people do not accept homosexuality but we have been receiving threats of eviction because the landlord is also homophobic. That is why we feel a need for us to own a permanent building and that will be the end of the fear of eviction.
Having a private, safe, secure and a friendly office will create confidentiality with our services and our client's information; And also help us to offer multiple services in one center including hosting and celebrating some of the LGBT memorial events like PRIDE, STONE WALL,IDAHOT, human rights day all within our coolest and LGBT friendly compound as currently we do not celebrating due to lack of a friendly environment. And lastly this office will serve as a temporary shelter
Your donations to this project will help bring a permanent and safe space for LGBT rights activism by supporting LGBT groups and activists leading the fight against the anti-LGBT laws and policies that are being are in place. Fighting such legislation will help ensure that no one is denied access to fundamental human rights or equal access based on gender identity or sexual orientation
