We are excited to announce the start of our 2nd annual Lucky 7 Training Challenge! This event will help local rescued and neglect horses get the much needed training they need to find good homes.
The Lucky 7 Training Challenge is a competition that pairs hand-selected experience trainers with a rescued horse from Sound Equine Options. The horses came to SEO from law enforcement cases, neglect situations or other dire circumstances.
Each horse and trainer will have 120 days to prepare to compete in four classes. Those classes include in-hand, trail obstacle, arena pattern and freestyle competitions. As a way to thank the trainers for the tremendous amount of time and energy they invest into each horse, SEO will award prize money to the top overall highest scoring duos.
The horses will be auctioned off to pre-approved bidders on September 10th, 2016 following the competition at the Yamhill County Fairgrounds in McMinnville Oregon
"Saving a horse and refeeding it is the easy part said Elisabeth Wolff, SEO president. " Proper training makes them more adoptable in the short term as well as more desirable and useful throughout their lives. Without it, rescued horses often end up back in bad situations. This is why training is such a large part of our program."
With your help we can make this a successful event that draws attention to equine welfare in our local community. For event information and updates visit us at Lucky 7 Training Challenge on Facebook.
