The F Word uses real stories from the frontline of forgiveness to challenge black and white views, building bridges between people based on our shared humanity. We have an amazing match funding opportunity to fulfil by 31 December. Donations (up to 5000) on GlobalGiving will be matched- that's right, your donation will count twice!
The conversation in our culture seems increasingly focused on retaliation and revenge - we are constantly confronted with images of hurt, harm and trauma, and "us vs. them" rhetoric clouds complex conflicts. There is an urgent need to focus on deeper and more nuanced exploration of issues. Additionally, the challenge with this microproject is reaching our match funding goal. Although we've made a start, there is a long way to go- will you help us?
The exhibition seeks to explore our shared humanity, transforming hate and bias, into compassion and understanding. Importantly, you (yes, you!) are part of the solution. Over the years, we have been strengthened by passionate individuals and we have learnt that when we collaborate, we can achieve amazing things. By reading the stories, viewing the exhibition, and supporting our fundraising goals, the change starts with you. We hope you will be supporting our match funding goal this season!
A shift in perspective can last a lifetime. Through sharing powerful stories from both victims and perpetrators, we invite people to explore these difficult questions with us, to start a dialogue. What does forgiveness mean? How do we deal with pain? Can we prevent future atrocities? We believe that an ever questioning, self-reflective society is capable of far-reaching change.
