Many kids in Sierra Leone come from homes and schools where they do not receive adequate character-building training or instruction in good morals. They receive little to no training with regard to career planning and working together on activities as a team. This project will change this for 200 kids by covering the costs of an exciting camp providing practical learning opportunities. In a relaxed and fun atmosphere, they will be able to develop new friendships and learn about good morals.
Kids and youths in Sierra Leone lack opportunities where they are involved in comprehensive character-building exercises. Leadership training sessions/activities are few and limited. The kids grow up with a very dilute or no sense of personal moral responsibility, the importance of right decision-making, leadership and nationalism. Many of them have not received any training with regards to ethics and principles or interacted with exemplary role models.
This project will address this deficiency by covering the costs of a week-long character-formation summer camp, in partnership with YFC. 200 at-risk children and youths from underserved urban neighborhoods will benefit from a wide range of activities focused on strengthening character and learning about purpose.
Seeds will be sown into the lives of kids and youths helping them to see themselves as future leaders. The camp will act as a catalyst stirring up the potential of the attendees. This camp will help them to see themselves as valuable and full of potential.
